I have come up with a new method of dealing with being angry at people in my life.
When you're upset with someone ask yourself "If the person I'm angry at were do die right now, would I regret my anger towards them?"
A little morbid, but it helps put things into perspective for me at least. Because really, it could happen and I don't want to push away those I love most over petty things. Sure, some of them don't seem so petty now, but in the face of never seeing that person again... you may rethink it.
As my aunt told me yesterday: When you're upset with someone you love, give them a hug. It sounds silly and may be hard to do, but you may be surprised at how much it helps.
And it did.
