To say I’ve been obsessing over starting my garden this year is an understatement. I swear at any moment Blaine is going to tell me that I’ve gone over my “garden talk quota” just like I used to tell him “car talk quota!” when he would drive me crazy with car talk and I just couldn’t take it anymore. I started some seeds indoors week before last and they’re growing SO fast! I’m going to need to put them in pots for the next month or so until it’s warmer out. All of the different dates for planting everything confuses me, so I’m hoping that with time it’ll get less confusing and I can just enjoy having my own garden. I’ll definitely be posting more as we make plans and progress.
Some links I’ve been loving over the last couple of weeks:
The sweetest little story about a dog and a past owner finding each other after 10 years. I can’t even imagine.
27 ways to make your groceries last as long as possible! I’ll have to try some of these and see if they really work.
A little late for Valentine’s Day, but I thought this was the cutest manicure.
One of my lovely clients, Jennifer, mentioned me in her favorite Etsy Shops of 2012 (thank you!)
This at home workout is pretty good. I do the first one and lunges and I feel it more than when I actually go to the gym. I sit at the computer all day so I do my best to do just 5 minutes of these or other similar workouts every hour or two.
I want nothing more than a big white fluffy rug, but with all the creatures in our house it would never stay clean. This one is machine washable! I think I might have to splurge on it. One day.
Need some busniess card inspiration? Check out these from Alt Summit.
I need to do this DIY for drawer dividers from cereal boxes + pretty paper. Junk drawer, I’m looking at you!
Made my first loaf of bread from scratch (I think it’s my first?) using this video. I think I might get their book. Fresh bread is so yummy. This is the book.
Can’t Mess ‘Em Up cookies over at Kim’s blog. I think I need to try these!
This family of 4 lives on $14,000 a year. Amazing! There are some amazing tips there. I’m obsessed.
To go with my gardening obsession, some easy houseplants. I love that they list which are poisionous for pets/kids. I’m turning into my mom who always had dozens of houseplants. Oh geez.
In other news I’ve decided that Window Shopping Wednesday (as if I kept to that schedule each week, ha!) is coming to an end. I’ve really just come to a place in my life where I don’t constantly want want want. Of course I still want things, but I’ve somehow cultivated this simplistic way of living and I crave getting rid of things more than obtaining things. It’s really quite amazing, to be honest. So goodbye WSW, it was fun!
Thanks for the mention 🙂 Love that home workout – I need to stop making excuses and just get back to exercising, so I will have to give it a try! And good luck with the garden! Jen
Definitely give it a try! I feel so much better physically, and less guilty mentally when I get at least a little bit of exercise in regularly. And thanks! I’m hoping the garden goes better this year than it did last year!
