Last week we made a little stop the ranch to check in while my uncle is in from the Philippines. I’ve posted about my uncles ranch before here. Back in the “good ol’ days” we would come up for the weekend, my entire extended family, to BBQ and just hang out. I remember pulling fresh apples from trees, chasing chickens and wishing we never had to leave. It kills me that those days are over and if I could buy the ranch myself I would do it in a heartbeat. Spending a couple of hours reminiscing and taking it all in was amazing yet heartbreaking when I think about the fact that one day someone will buy it and we won’t be able to stop by and relive those memories as easily. I have dreams of one day being able to buy it myself, to build a house on that land and to be able to invite our families over for the weekend. To have horses and rows and rows of fruit trees. I’m a dreamer, what can I say?
P.S. you know our 1971 Beetle in the photos? Turns out my uncle bought it brand new in the 70’s and they used to drive it around the ranch all the time. They had fun talking about it and how it used to live at the ranch and now it’s come full circle and lives at our house just 5 miles away.
