Reading: I’m still working on that giant Stephen King book, Desperation. But I got back into it a few days ago so I think I’ll be done soon and I’ll move on to the rest of my summer reading list.
Listening: For the last few days I’ve been listening to a lot of Hanson (judge me.), Lorde & Gabrielle Aplin. I feel like it’s kind of a random mix, but that’s the story of my life when it comes to music. Can I also just say that if I hear Sweater Weather by The Neighborhood one more time I’m going to rip my hair out? I heard it three times by 1pm on Saturday and I wasn’t even in the car that much. Can we just retire that song off the radio now?
Watching: We spent literally all day yesterday watching Orange is the New Black. We have 2 episodes left and I bet you we’ll get through both tonight. Other than that I finally caught up on Pretty Little Liars, Real Housewives of OC and The Bachelorette. Of course now that we’re almost at the end of the season and they showed all the drama for the two part (of course) season finale, I’m interested again. I still like Brooks (is that his name?) for her but I kind of love the super sweet, cute guy. I don’t even know his name. Is it obvious that I’m a totally not into this season?
Thinking About: Our anniversary trip in October! I think we finally decided on a road trip up the west coast and back. In 9 days. I know road trips are lots of car time, but I hate sitting in the car. I’m hoping there are lots of cool stops on the way up and back because over 2000 miles in 9 days sounds rough. But Blaine and I love to explore and it might be different sitting in the car all day if we’re stopping and sightseeing along the way rather than trying to get to our destination ASAP. I’m trying to decide if we should just go with the flow and just book rooms as we go or if we should book them all ahead of time. I’m leaning towards not booking any hotels ahead of time or else it’ll take a little bit of the freedom and spontaneity out of the trip. We’re crossing our fingers to make it to Seattle and back, but we mainly want to see Oregon so if we don’t that’ll be ok too.
Eating: I have been eating a lot of salads lately! Thank god because my eating habits otherwise kind of suck at the moment. I used to buy those mixed greens in the big plastic container, but I’ve fallen in love with actually just getting a head of lettuce and preparing it one salad at a time. There’s something oddly calming about rinsing and just using my hands to break the lettuce into bite size pieces. That sounds so weird.
Loving: My new hair. It’s not all that short, but it feels like a big difference to me. Although it’s already up in a ponytail. I’m also loving iced coffee, iced water, basically anything cold and delicious. AND I’m loving my tomato plant! I went out to check on it last night and we have at least 8 growing right now. The day I get to chop one up and eat one will be so exciting, no matter how lame that sounds!
