In January my new habit to try out for the month was getting up at 7:30am, you can read that post here. How did it go? Pretty well! January was a little crazy for me. It included two trips (Vegas and Big Bear) and losing my dog, Roxy. I wasn’t perfect about getting out of bed right at 7:30, in fact as of lately I’ve kind of created a habit of waking up at 7:30 and lying in bed until 8. But I’m now in the habit of getting up earlier than I was for the last few months. All in all, while I wasn’t perfect, I’d say it was a success. Onto February!
February’s new habit: read for 30 minutes daily
I had ideas on what habit to create in February all through the month, but never wrote them down. However, reading 30 minutes a day sounds like perfection. Winter is starting to settle in again (finally) and so the thought of laying on the couch with a blanket or in bed under the covers and getting lost in a book for 30 minutes each day sounds amazing. I really love to read, it’s just hard to get myself in the habit of doing it regularly. Sometimes I’ll go through phases where I read for hours a day, several days in a row, but more often than not I’ll go full weeks without touching a book. I’m excited to change that this month, I already have two books I checked out from the library ready to be read!
Would you like to join me in creating a new habit in February? Let me know what your new habit will be and link to your post if you blogged about it. Feel free to use the image above! I’ll be checking in at the end of February with my results, thoughts and March’s new habit.
I have started doing this every night. It’s a great way to relax.
I agree! I just need to remember to get into bed to read before I’m too tired to do it. A lot of times I’m falling into bed and just want to sleep.
