Two years ago I cut out sweets from my diet for two weeks. You can read about my first sugar strike challenge here and here. When I decided to do the same this year I, for some reason, thought I had done it for SIX weeks. What? So my plan this time around is FIVE weeks. But now that I remember I didn’t go that long before I’m a little nervous, but I’m doing it anyway!
I started my sugar strike on Monday (Feb 24th) and will be completing the challenge on Monday (March 31st). That is a full five weeks of no sugar.
What are the rules?
- No processed sweets (cookies, cake, candy, etc)
- 1 tsp honey in tea and 1 tbsp sweetened creamer in coffee is allowed
- Fruit is 100% ok
- Sugar in regular food (like pasta sauce) is ok, but should be limited
So it’s not really a total sugar strike because if it were I wouldn’t be eating anything with sugar. I’m really just trying to reset my sugar addiction, which has caused me to: snack all day, crave dessert after basically every meal, etc.
I’ll check in once or twice during the challenge with my progress. If you’d like to join me, feel free to check in on the comments of this post and if you blog feel free to use the image above.
