Pismo photo explosion! I can’t help it, so many good pictures. We did the Hearst Castle tour on our trip, probably for the 5th or 6th time. Johnny, my brother in law, had never been there before so it’s always cool being there when someone sees it for the first time. It’s such an extravagant place and an interesting story. And the gardens? Something about the gardens totally entranced me this time. I always love the time we spend there, but this time I walked down each pathway admiring and enjoying each beautiful section of floral beauty. It was sunset, the sweet smell of orange blossoms was in the air (according to a lovely, elegant woman I spoke with briefly) and the plants and flowers just had me so enchanted and wishing I never had to leave.
The elephant seals are also another tradition of ours when we’re in the area. Aren’t they the silliest looking creatures? They spend their days lounging around, occasionally taking a dip, throwing dirt on their backs and making funny noises. What’s not to love? This time it was mating season and that’s all I’m going to say about that. Another fun little family trip for the books!
