The blogging world, the online world in general, is full of wish lists, photos and visual collections of things we’d love to have. In my effort to simplify, get back to the basics and love what I have, I’m going to regularly be sharing a few of MY favorite things (and maybe some non-things). As in, things that I love that are already part of my life, rather than things that I’m lusting after.
My $1 Beach Chair | I’m basically in love with this thing. A few months ago we were shopping yard sales. I saw this chair and for some reason was afraid to ask for the price because I loved it so much that I assumed it’d be out of my price range for something I didn’t need. Since it was a neighborhood-wide yard sale, after going to a few more we decided if I could get it for a few bucks I’d take it. Blaine hopped out of the car, asked the guy how much, the guy told him to name a price and Blaine scored it for me for $1. I am obsessed with it.
Bed Frame | I had honestly been shopping for a bed frame for over a year now. Real life alert: our bed has been a mattress and box spring on the floor of our bedroom for over a year. I just could not find anything pre-loved, for a decent price, that I actually liked. We came across this Ikea bedframe and scored it for $15 at a yard sale. Blaine had to add some support because it was missing some pieces, but it’s still standing a few weeks later! Fingers crossed. We’ve already broken two bed frames. True story. But there’s something about getting into bed with a nice frame and your bed all made that makes sleeping a bit more luxurious!
Fresh California Strawberries | If we ever left California one of the things I’d miss the most is being able to stop at a corner in town and buy a huge box of delicious strawberries. I am so spoiled living here that I don’t even really like the strawberries at the store. They just can’t compete!
Gold Glitter Polish | I’ve been on a gold glitter polish kick for the last few weeks. I’m a mess when it comes to painting nails and it’s a bit less obvious with gold glitter. And (mainly) glitter doesn’t seem to chip as quickly as regular colors do so my manicure not only stays longer, it adds a little sparkle to my daily life which I love.
What are a few of your favorite things?
First off I would like to say awesome blog! I had aquick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing.
I have had a hard time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out.
I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend
to be wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any
suggestions or hints? Cheers!
