The blogging world, and life in general, is full of wish lists, photos and visual collections of things we’d love to have. In my effort to simplify, get back to the basics and love what I already own, I like share MY favorite things (and non-things). These monthly posts will focus on things that I love that are already part of my life, rather than things that I’m lusting after.
Coffee. My mugs have been getting a lot of use lately! I usually go through coffee phases, but have never been one of those people who needs it to function. While I haven’t crossed that bridge, I’ve truly appreciated coffee this month! With an increase in work, I’ve done my best to work more efficiently instead of just more hours. Coffee has helped. I’m thankful for coffee!
Venice. I am just smitten by this little squirt. Venice is 3 months old now and I only have a month left with her before it’s time to go to her forever home. Being a puppy foster is hard, but I get to enjoy a few weeks/months of puppyhood and hand them off before I start pulling out my hair with housebreaking/chewing the world frustration. She is really the cutest little thing and weighed in at 1.6 pounds yesterday.
Cool Nights. Hello fall, I’ve been waiting for you! Though the days are still in the high 80’s/low 90’s I’m just so happy that at night everything cools down and we can open the windows. Spring and fall are my favorites, I love crisp mornings and days in the mid-70’s. Perfection.
Salads & Smoothies. I’m putting these together because really, I don’t need to talk about food all day here. My general daily food intake is smoothie for breakfast, salad for lunch, coffee somewhere in the middle and whatever for dinner. Rinse and repeat. Pineapple was on sale so I’ve bought 3 over the last few weeks and they are my favorite thing to add to green smoothies. I’m also obsessed with salads with artichoke hearts and the gardein meatless breaded cutlets I talked about in my favorites from August.
Kindle & Nook Apps. I’ve gotten back into reading and am so thankful for my iPad for this. I really do love real, physical books. However, I cannot seem to return books to the library on time so I’m careful about checking any out. Right now I’m in the middle of (try not to judge me) 50 Shades of Grey. I actually read it when it first came out and do you ever get in a rut where you only want to read something easy that you’ve already read? That’s how I’m feeling right now and it’s doing what it always does, get’s me back into the groove of reading. Today I bought the kindle version of The Slight Edge and will be starting that in a day or two.
