I never ever thought I could just take a blogging break for six weeks out of nowhere. I had posts planned for the rest of the year and one small (big) change and it went out the window. I make no apologies, though! I loved taking a break from not only the blog, but the online world and computer in general. Over the last six weeks I have spent no more than 20 hours on the computer, total. In SIX WEEKS. Normally I spend at least 30-40 hours a week sitting on my computer chugging away. However, immediately after our anniversary trip to Morro Bay (pictures soon!) we found out some exciting news: we have a little one on the way!
Lucky for us, though the symptoms started during our vacation, I didn’t start feeling really awful until the day we left. From then on? Queue the nausea and the all day naps. I managed to sleep through the entire month of November and the beginning of December! But now that I’m feeling a bit better, though still very much suffering from some pregnancy symptoms, I’m in planning mode.
Taking a break gave me a good look at my life, our life and what direction we’re going in. It gave me a lot of clarity on what I want to focus on, where I want this blog to go, and what kind of life we want to lead. While I’m just dipping my toes back in the whole working on the computer regularly thing, I know I don’t want to spend entire days glued to this little machine like I was before my break.
I’m excited to spend the rest of the holidays relaxing and planning 2015 — possibly the most exciting year yet!
